Grubby girls

See these girls. They are acting repulsed by the creatures inside the can my youngest is holding.

The girls on this farm don’t come home from school and watch TV, or brush their hair and look in the mirror. They don’t text friends or talk on the phone.

Oh no. They go outside and play. And most days I think that’s just great, but on this day they found a wonderful rotting log and brought home some of the residence of that log to say hello.

I’m gritty. I like to think of myself as ‘up for anything,’ but these grubs and their pulsating gelatinous bodies kinda gave me the willies.

When I said they were acting repulsed, I meant it. They couldn’t have been happier with their newest acquisitions.

Aren’t you glad I shared, and so close to dinner time.

  1. You could use them grubs for fishing. Or, watch them for awhile. And then may be take them back to their log and let them go.

  2. Ugh this was me as a child! I wish I still had the stomach for creepy crawlies. I don’t even like to look at them now. Which makes me realize how my poor mom felt when I brought a worm into the house to show her. :)

p.s. those fuzzy little chicks are so cute! I kind of want to look into the regulations and such of raising chickens when I move..
