About me and mine

Hi! My name is Caroline.

I live on a horse farm in Georgia with my sweet husband and our two children.

Here’s Billy giving advice to our son during a golf tournament.

This is Billy and our sweet little girl.

In addition to horses, we have chickens, 4 dogs and a cat.

I love to garden, although I’m not any good at it.

I grew up on the land where my family and I now live. My father was a doctor and my mother  a homemaker. They are now home full-time enjoying the grandchildren and the farm. They gave Billy and me a portion of the farm to build a home on when we married. They did the same for my sister and her husband. It’s great to have my sister so close and she and her husband have four children, so there’s always a lot going on around here.

I grew up in a family with four children.

I’m the little one with the comb-over.

My brothers ended up building on farms of their own not far from ours.

My blog chronicles my day-to-day struggle with getting plants to grow, and my love of cooking and family.

I have tons of recipes that I make with step by step directions and photos.

Stop by for a while if you can and see me. I would love to hear from you in the comment section!

see ya soon,

the wanna be country girl – Caroline

gotta love River Cottage, followed HFW on our Channel 4 since his days in the 90s driving a Land Rover and cooking in the wild. Truly inspirational. Like your site, although shouldn’t it be just countrygirl.com looks like you can ditch thewannabe. . Full of admiration & little envy here in South Gloucestershire, England.

Thought I’d have a quick look at your site since you are keeping tabs on my blog on the river cottage site and video’s on you tube (currently one, just did the next one to find the card I used in the camera is corrupt… Arggh). Great site but I don’t think you’re a Wannabe Country Girl, I think you’re safely a Country girl now! Keep up the good work.

    Caroline,

Having gone to school with me (although you probably barely recall me), I was stunned to see this website for the first time. If anyone at school, both then or now, had told me that Caroline was a “country girl”, I would NEVER had believed it. But your site is awesome — especially the recipes!

I’m a country boy, and always have been. But I have to live in the “not-so-country” world most of the time. Your site is very refreshing. I love to cook, and fully intend to implement some of your recipes very soon.

Please continue on this endeavor. You seem surprisingly suited to it.

    Your friend,
    David

Hi! Just stumbled across your blog and as a fellow horse-lover I loved the posts about your horses- they’re absolutely beautiful! Also, the barn your daughter is riding at in some of the pictures is where I ride when I’m home from school…I believe she was on Wizard? They looked great! Hope y’all are enjoying the rest of the summer!

I “stumbled” upon you and your recipe for the hashbrown, and I decided to stay a moment and take a look around. I am now bookmarking your page. I love your sense of humor, and how you add pictures. (the cat in the shoe box to compare to your shorts, PRICELESS!) I will be stopping by occasionally to look in and see what other adventures you are having. Keep up the great work. :-)
